A simple spot example
At a 0.05% rate, a hypothetical $1,000 executed purchase costs $0.50. A later $1,000 executed sale costs another $0.50. This $1.00 example excludes price movement, spread and other charges; it is not a return projection.
Other costs to budget for
- Spread: the gap between the prices at which you can immediately buy and sell.
- Slippage: execution can differ from the price you expected.
- Funding: perpetual futures can involve payments that change over time.
- Withdrawals: charges and minimums depend on the asset and network; verify before transferring.
- Conversion and third-party payment charges: depend on your funding route.
- Tax and record keeping: obligations depend on your jurisdiction.
Why frequent trading deserves scrutiny
A bot can generate many small trades. Evaluate net results across the whole position after realized fees and unrealized losses, rather than looking only at individual winning fills. A strategy that appears attractive before execution costs may be unprofitable afterward.
